GM tranny compatibilty?

I am looking at putting a 425 in my Jeep. It has a GM TH400. Can I use a tranny adapter and an automatic flywheel and make it work? Also, what flywheel will I need. I have read there is a difference in the pre and post '68. Im trying to research all I can on the subject but am new at this.

Thanks all for any info
