Water Outlet & Thermostat leakage

I just replaced my thermostat and water outlet with new seals on my 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado and it has a slow seeping leak I was wondering how to stop the leak the water outlet has only one factoiry screw and that i think is the problem. Would a little silicone gasket maker solve this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Thermostat hsg leak

get a nice new "O" ring from a GM dealer and make sure the housing and the hole in the intake are clean of debri like that hard white substance. Then lube the O ring with some grease or vasaline and put in place then tighten screw. Just make sure that you seat the housing by hand before you tighten the bolt. That should do it.
