Overheated! : (

Was driving on the highway and my car began to overheart. I noticed this and pulled over. I turn the engine off and a bunch of smoke shot out the radiator. Had it to towed to a mechanic. The mechanic shop filled it with some antifreeze and put some new belts on it and its running pretty good. Do you think I need a new radiator and could i have done any damage to the engine?

It is possible that you were low on coolant and that is what caused the overheating....other things could have caused it also one being a partially clogged radiator. As for damage to the engine...probably none occurred.

Sounds like it was repaired. If, since then, you've driven it "on the highway" and it did not "overheat" you can forget it happened.

If you did, the car would still be "overheating".

Not in the scenario you described.
