Correct Fuel Filter?

I'm completing a tune-up of my '70 Cutlass with SBO 350 and Rochester 2bbl carb. Per the ACDelco catalog and my local parts store the fuel filter should be part no. GF441, but this is too long to fit in the fitting on the carb: it's the right diameter and type (i.e. paper element), but the new filter is 2" long while the one I pulled out of the carb was 1" long. The parts store did give me a non-ACDelco equivalent, but the picture of GF441 on the ACDelco website looks to be the same 2" length. GF441 is supposed to be applicable to both 2bbl & 4bbl carbs. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct part for the 2bbl application?

The Delco part no. for the short fuel filter is GF470. This shows applicable to some Olds engines starting in 1976. Could be that mine is not the original carb that came with the engine.
