Radiator

I was going to get my radiator replaced at a shop when I found out that it would cost me close to 300 dollars to get it fixed. So I bought a Haynes manual for my 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham 350 with Air Conditioning to see if I could do it myself. Am I well over my head? Is it more complicated than it looks (pulling the old one out and putting the new one in)?

It is hard to say because everyone's skill levels are different. You have to remove the fan shroud, to do that you have to remove the fan, to do that you have to remove the belts, to do that you have to remove (or at least loosen) the alternator, A/C compressor, and power steering pump. You will have to remove the upper radiator brace, drain the coolant, remove the upper and lower radiator hoses, dis-connect the transmission coolant lines on the passenger side of the radiator. I think that is it.
