what year is my 350?

i bought a 350 at the junk yard it's valve covers are center bolt i know its 5.7 any one know

go to www.442.com and look up your casting numbers in the FAQ section.

If it has center bolt valve covers, it is not an Oldsmobile engine, it is a Chevrolet.

all monte carlos come with the 305??? or 350??

I dunno.
I can tell you from experience, that my 87 Monte SS came with a 305, and my 75 monte had a 350.
Other than that, I'd get that book, or join a Chevy forum.

Depends on the year. The 305 came out in '76 or '77 - I can't remember which. Prior to that, the 350 was the smallest (and most common) Monte engine. At some point in the late 70s or very early 80s, the 305 was the BIGGEST Monte engine you could get. Chevytalk.org is a great website for the bowtie guys.
