260 Intake swap?
I have a 1975 Omega, with a 260.I was wondering what if any four barrel intake will fit?I know that this engine isn't really a performer but I want to get rid of the quadrajet two barrel.Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help Mark |

I have learned that there are not ANY manifolds that will fit the head port profile of a 260 motor. They will bolt up, but the ports will not line up. You would have to look at just upgrading to a Holley 2bbl ($259) to try and get the performance you are looking for.
Honestly, you wont get much out of a 260. John |

Get an intake from an Olds 350 - and leave the 350 attached to it!

If you must keep the 260, you can probably use another set of heads, don't know what ones, and an intake to match. But at that point, you may as well just put in another motor. Unfortunately, 260's are not very perfomance orientated, and there isn't anything that I'm aware of that is made to work on the 260. The good thing about oldsmobile is that all motors mount into any sb or bb mount. Just that I don't know how much power the trans and rear can take. A mild or even stock 350 would be great.

Thanks for the Help
Thanks for the help guys,I appreciate all the responses.I really don't want to make a race car out of the Omega,I just want a cruiser.I have 2 other X bodies-a '77 Nova with a Big Block Chevy-a '75 Pontiac Ventura with a 388 Stroker small block. So for right now I would like to have a dependable cruiser with good gas mileage and I really want to keep it Olds powered, and probably upgrading to a 350 Olds later. So thanks again.......Mark

Hey now, The 260 has more potential than a boat anchor. I believe I had one in my 82 cutlass. It was a 400 dollar car that is still running today with about 197000 on it. Bone stock. I gave it to my buddy's dad (a retired mechanic) for a project car to mess with some years back. It's in Yuma Tennessee at the moment towing trailers of hay for a cattle ranch.
