On most Oldsmobile V8s. The water temperature sending device is on the right front of the intake manifold on the water jacket runner (front one that runs all the way across). The sending unit is vertically screwed into the manifold. All you have to do is remove the sending unit and replace it with the sending unit for an aftermarket gauge, or, if you want he idiot light to still work, install a "T" first and mount both units on the "T". There MIGHT be another spot on the left side of the same runner that is not used and you could put your sending unit there. For the oil pressure sending unit, look on the front of the block, on the horizontal shelf just below and to the right of the thermostat housing, it is between the vertical block surface and the front timing cover. It is actually part of the block.
Good luck.
