where can i find the engine cereal number on a 1955 oldsmobile

This is from 442.com. I will not take responsibility if it is incorrect.

"The engine code number can be found on the ID plate on the left
front door hinge post. Prefixes to this number are used to identify: first,
the model year, and second the engine series."
