HELP with engine color '63 394 2bbl

I looking for the correct engine, valve cover, intake & exhaust manifold, colors for a 1963 Dynamic 88 Holiday 394 2bbl. I know the valve covers are kind of light blue, but the rest of my engine has lost all its paint. A resource or correct picture would be perfect.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

It should be a green color. Check out ebay for any restored 59-64 and you'll see it.

May I suggest you contact the Illiniois chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America. Lotsa good folks that can help you out with finding the right shade.

For what it's worth, my 63/394 has a red block, with silver valve covers. The intake on it is a four barrel set up. I'm not sure yet if the engine is original to the car, but it appears to be.

correct paint

Bill Hirsch has the paint for about 40.00 a quart or spray cans . 2 barrel engines were an aqua green and 4 barrels engines were red...
www.hirschauto.com It's only listed up to 62 so maybe it's an odd ball

59-60 394 are light green with black aircleaners. 61-64 high compression 394 are red whether 2 or 4 barrel; low compression and export engines are light green. 4-barrel HC engines have silver air cleaners, 2-barrels and LC/export are black. Starfire engines have either chrome or silver painted valve covers, aircleaner and oil cap depending on year.

Great video!

Those who wonder about why their engines get so rusty should take a look at the 2 seconds of footage showing how they were painted.

For original colors you can order from AUTOMOTIVETOUCHUP.COM They have original auto colors for all old cars. You can get the paint in a spray can or qts. The nozzle is designed to give you good coverage. I painted my valve covers and other parts light green. I know there are other auto paint companies that can give you the exact engine paint and colors. I will get back to you asap with more info.

Hey BIG JOE P.
Try TCP GLOBAL
You can get exact body colors and engine paint colors. Good products, good price and quick and easy web ordering. The web site is large so you have to move around it to find everything you need. I have ordered three cans of same color at three different times and they all matched perfect!! Tell me what you think if you order thru TCP Global or Automotive touch-up.

NavVet, BigJoeP asked his question in October of 2006.

I'd bet he's got his engine painted by now.
