1973-1977 water pump

I have a 1973-1977 water pump availible. I bought it and its not the right height. I compared the lengths with a mans 77 cutlass at a local cruise night and they are the same. Its an AC Delco pump, still in the box. Looking for $25 for it. It retailed for a lot more, but I got a refund, minus shipping and re stocking. Just want what I have into it.

That unfortunately doesn't help. There are three different length Olds water pumps, depending on whether the car had A/C or not. The same year car may use different length pumps, depending on the equipment. Give us the measurement from the gasket surface to the pulley flange. Also, it will be helpful to know where you are (at least by zip code).

There are also two different size impellers. And if is original the impeller is cast and if it is rebuilt the impeller is usually stamped steel...... All this would be nice to know.
