Scored a 330 Olds
WG motor so it has 10.25:1 compression, 4 heads, no intake manifold.
Currently sitting on a stand in my mom's garage in an engine cocoon
I just swaped the valve cover gaskets to the Fel-Pro Perma-dry ones since I hate RTV and the cork gaskets. The dist cap was cracked but the guy gave me another one so I swapped that. It has the triple crank pulley and triple water pump pulley so I'll be keeping them.
Valve covers and oil pan are both dented. Minor dents, rockers and pick-up are not damaged.
My plans are to drop this bad boy and all it's 320hp 360 ft lbs into either a 78-85 Delta, 78-80 Cutlass coupe (A Body) or a 81-87 Cutlass sedan (G Body)
I want to stay away from the G body coupes because everybody and thier mother has one. There is 10 in my class at the track out of 27 cars
G Body sedan has the same chassis as the coupe, so it's "off the shelf" The Delta 88 it a little bit more diffcult but not that bad, just the rear end is a challenge to find.
I'm going to get a 5 or 6 quart oil pan and an edelbrock 7111 manifold for it. STOCK HEI ($120 v $440 with the same hp results ) I will do a double roller timing chain, probably a holley carb (thinking 770) and a dual snorkel air cleaner (if I can get one, I'll make one might have to trim it down because it's tight under a Delta's hood) I probably won't go as far as to pull the heads off the block and get into the bottom end at this point. New water pump of course and with the triple pullies, I will be running a/c in the car. The a/c compressor belt will be in the front, for easy removal for drag racing
This car will be a complete and total sleeper as well. The engine will be painted the correct color for the year car it's in. Hoping to get the Later Delta or Cutlass Sedan becuase the color will be flat black then. Only an Olds guy will know it's a 330 and not a 260 or 307 I may go so far as to have the stock wire wheel cover cover on there as well.
In the future, roller rockers will come into play and the car will get headers right from the start (The only thing that people WILL notice that isn't stock, Of course these will be painted or powdercoated flat black.
I'm guessing I'll be pushing in the area of 360 hp and maybe 400 ft lbs by the time it's all said and done. Want to stick with a 200r, I know I'll need that convertor box for the TC lock-up or maybe a 700r but I'll need a different driveshaft too (might need that anyway). If I get the OD tranny, 3.73's in the rear is very nice but I thnk I still like the 3.42's
More pics to come, BTW that valley tray is GONE now. I will be replaceing with a windage tray from Mondello

I had a 330 310 hp in a 67 Cutlass supreme conv 4 speed. It was a great little motor. Yours will certaily have some power with the 342 gears. I hope you got the flexplate with the motor because it will be different than the newer ones. Keep us posted.

Sadly I do not know the miles on the engine, but the guy did have a video of it on YouTube.
It came in a 1979 Hurst that he bought, he swapped this motor and swapped in a Olds 434 Stroker (I thought the Olds strokers only were 411 )
330 video link
And I have more pics of it, here
