BOP Shootout pics San Antonio Raceway

Thought i would like to share some pics and videos of the BOP shootout that happened last friday.

Not sure who won due to me and the GF left early so maybe someone else can chime in.

Was a fun night, had 16 entries and an estimated 5 other Olds that showed up including my own. I did not race in the event but i took her down the track a couple of times.

And some videos of myself, Danny Sarvis(70Wcars), and a friend of ours Mark Andrews.

Mark Andrews and his 1970 442

Danny Sarvis and his 1970 442

And my first run of the night

My fastest run was actually 15.442 at 91MPH. I was trying to be fancy and use the dual gate shifter and kept hitting it into neutral (hense why you see me slow down lol).

Nice Camera work Tom..Thanks. Glad you threw your 69 down the Track...that's what BOP is all about.

Joe ...we will keep you posted on future races. The green 81 is Catfish's car from Bay City..he won the whole thing. We will be racing Sealy some this Summer and will let you and ah64 know.

Man, I'm sorry I couldn't make it! It looked like a ton of fun! Maybe in the fall! I did manage to find my way to a track this weekend though, but it was as a spectator. I've got a buddy in the NHRA Pro circuit so my race weekend experience is a little different than most

Go Karts Thursday night with Tony Schumacher (Army - Top Fuel), Spencer Massey (Prestone - Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Valvoline - Funny Car), Corey McClenathan (Santos - Top Fuel), and Ron Capps (Napa - Funny Car)

Qualifying rounds Friday and Saturday followed by dinner, and poolside cigar / drink, then today Tony came over for a bit until we dropped him off at the airport.

Overall, you could say it was a fun weekend, and a great alternative to missing the BOP

P.S. Can next years BOP be scheduled for a different weekend than when the Nationals are in Houston?

Steve...sounds like you had a great time...hangin' with that group would definately be first on my list of how to spend a weekend!!!

We do a Fall BOP, usually in October, and our Spring race we try to set for this same time as it is Fiesta Parade day in SA and many of us ( myself included ) have the day off from work. Last year there was no conflict and I raced BOP and went to Baytown as well for the NHRA race, so they don't always fall on the same weekend.

I'll keep ya'll posted on upcoming trip to Sealy or Baytown.

Hi FAZ442

Yes. We hold the BOP shootout each Spring and Fall. Usually late April and October. Watch this site as we start posting about it a couple of months in advance and the San Antonio Raceway website will have it on the Schedule page about 2 months in advance.

Look forward to seeing you and always seeing more cars come out!!!

Hey Sicky. Great pics! I met you at the BOP shootout ('72 H/O). Drove the Olds down from Fort Worth and had a great time. Hope to get back down for the October race.
