Need 1970-72 Windshield frame
I need to get a hold of the actual metal frame that holds the windshield. Even parts off a body that is about to go to the scrapper that is fine with me.
It is raining inside my Cutlass and I need to get the vinyl removed and that rotten metal replaced. Any help? John |

Thanks but I would rather give the Olds community a chance and my money. If all else fails and I have to get it done, I'll contact them.

Windshield Frame
The frame that holds the windshield. My vinyl top has held moisture and it has completely rotted it away. Since I have had my windshield replaced, the glass man told me that it was so bad that he wrote on the receipt that he cound not honor the warranty against leaks. Lo and behold it rains inside my baby.
It is coming in right over the passenger seat right at the top/corner. I will take as much metal as you are willing to cut out, HOWEVER I'm not going to replace it all if I do not have too. Less welding, less worry about warpage.I have a lead in a junkyard near my house. I am SUPPOSED to go there this weekend. If he will sell me what I need, then you do not have to cut up yours. I have other irons in the fire that have contacted me first so I will wait and see how that pans out. Right now you are option #3 Thanks John |

OK, I've got a couple four doors I'm parting out, but I know the windshield is slightly different from a 2 door to a 4 door car or wagon. Years ago I tried to swap glass and discovered this. The curve of the glass near the doors is a slightly different shape. But... if your willing to do some welding I could send you the frame in pieces, you could cut sections out to weld into your car, if need be fabricate short sections to make the curve right. Also, I'm in Oregon so shipping a large package would probably be difficult and expensive. What do you think?

Thats all I'm looking for is some solid patch pieces because (you are right) shipping that is not going to be cheap. My main problem area is the top at the passenger side. If you were to send 2 ft sections with one passenger corner that would be great.
Let me talk to Oldsracer67 first. I forgot he posted that he had a four door that he was cutting up too. My first two leads didn't pan out and I told him he was option #3....your #4. Thanks!! John |
