66 toronado kick-down switch
I currently have a customers 66 Toro in my shop that is in need of a new kick-down switch. Any idea where I might find one??
This one is mounted on the back of the intake not under the dash. It has 3 wires Thanks...Pete |

Good company to order from. I always call first just to make sure nothing is on "permanent backorder". (That's from experience with other companies. Rock Auto has always been good to me.) Make sure you get on their email list. They have a good sale every 2-3 months. C.J.

I don't think that thing mounted on the intake is the kick down switch. It is the switch for the "switch pitch" torque converter. No longer available as far as I know. Toronados had these switches mounted on the intake - other Oldses had them mounted on the firewall. That switch changes the pitch of the variable blades in the torque converter to help get things moving off the line. It won't downshift the trans.
