Center Console for 1971 Cutlass in Blue
Center Console for 1971 Cutlass in Blue
Looking for a decent shape center console for a 1971 Cutlass S in blue. My exterior color is Viking blue. I prefer not to have to repaint so original blue is highly desirable. Thanks!
There is one on ebay now. Not sure if it is a 71.

color console?
According to the GM parts manual the upper and lower console is not listed as color match to cars. They are produced in black and dyed/painted to meet needs of production. The ad that was posted by 69 442 shows a nicely cared for console, but those black marks the seller is referring to are probably where the dye/paint has come off. This process is common for a lot of GM parts. Probably so they don't have to tie up resources and commit inventory to specific color dyes. I would look for a console that's in really decent shape for a decent price, because skin deep they're all the same. And you can get new replacement parts for the shifter gate, including the woodgrain.
I know this is a super old thread but found it in a search. I just acquired a blue center console from a 1971 Cutlass that I just listed on eBay. Still looking? Here's a link
