choke for 67 Qjet
Looking for the choke piece (someone called it the heat riser on ebay?) that bolts to the manifold and links up to the carb linkage.
I assume it is called a 'divorced choke', but don't flame me if I'm calling it by wrong name. I need the piece with the coil, cover, bolt, and rod in usable condition. I realize the cover isn't going to look like new. (400 stock manifold if it makes a difference) please send direct to dflye@cox.net. Thanks, D Last edited by Flye; May 22nd, 2009 at 03:58 PM.. Reason: comment on manifold |

Get ready to bend over and grab your ankles if it's for a 442. An NOS one for a Toronado went for close to $200 on ebay last week, and when it hit a buck twenty five I said they could have it.
Grp 3.750 p/n 7027094, 1967 4BC except Toronado, housing, choke (incl rod and Thermostat on intake manifold). Listed for $8.50 in 1974. So it works on every 1967 4-barrel engine except a Toro, but you know it would never be advertised that way. You may find a serviceable used one, but after 40 years I expect the spring is weak.

thanks for the detail. Great to have, even if it means I might have to go with an electric set up at this point.
Clarification Question: are you saying the other part number WILL fit a 67 400? Clarification Question: Is the 442 manifold (and choke) different? I assume based on the 'all except Toro', it means the mounting should be same, but I need to be sure. Thanks, D (I liked the spelling of state....) |

That's right. All 1967 4 barrel engines except the Toronado use the same choke stat. There's a note about some late A.I.R. equipped 330 engines using a different one, but all 400 and non-Toro 425 engines use the 7027094. No difference in choke mounting for those intakes. Toronado intake is noticeably different.
Hey- spell it like you say it. ![]() W'all soond lak Wawd Buhton up heah ennyway.(We all sound like Ward Burton up here anyway. )

I just destroyed one
I pulled a carb off a 67 98 Olds a few weeks back and it was all still there. I ruined the choke housing and spring in the process. I do have a box of old carb stuff I'll dig around in later today and see if I got one on hand.
