2 series limited slip or 3.31 ring and pinion

I have two 3 series limited slip dieferntials for a 64-68 BOP 10 bolt. I need a 2 series unit or a 3.31 - 3.55 R&P set. I am willing to trade a 2 series unit for my 3 series but would prefer a 3.3 R&P.

gears and posi

I can get you brand new 3.36 3.55 3.73 3.90 gears for your olds 64-67 10 bolt 8.2 rear if that helps. 190.00 for the set.

I have a reconditioned 2 series that holds 2.56 2.78 gears....What do you need the 2.93-3.23 carrier ? the 3.36 3.55 3.90 4.33 etc are on the highest series carrier I call a 4 series.

I just want to be sure we are comparing apples to apples that is all. Jim

I take it since the factory "Olds" were 3.55 and 3.90, the 3.36 and 3.73 are now made to "fill in" the range of available ratios? Or were they available ratios for others like Pontiac?

I would say you are corect, the posi units I have are both out of 67 Fbird rears that had 3.9 gear ratios. I now have a 9" in that car and a bunch of rear end parts from past distructioin. I would like a set of 3.36 gears or the carrier, dont matter much to me. Can you give me some contact info please?

Thanks

Do you know what gears are on your other 3 series posi carriers?
My car has the original 3.23 gears in it (open carrier). You'd still have to get a posi carrier, but maybe we could do a partial trade or something. Or i could just buy one of your units whole, carrier + gears.

I'm interested in having a shorter gear, like a 3.7 or 3.9 with a posi carrier.
Does anyone know if there are Posi rebuild kits for these original units?

Edit- just saw that they are both 3.90+posi carriers. If they aren't thrashed, let me know a price and i'll probably come & put some money in your hands.

Thanks-
Ben

The gear sets are shot, my bird beat the poo out of them at the track, chunks and stuff ya know. All I have for extra R&P's is a set of 3.08's. The Posi's are in usable condition but should be rebuilt, they are both 4 pinion cup and cone units. One of them would have a delay on one tire in the water box. If your still interested let me know and we can figure out what its worth.

Ok... I'll probably pass then, i'd like to get a posi unit, but it sounds like those carriers won't work with the 3.23 gears i have.

RAMBOW and trdbrd, if monzaz doesn't have what you need/want, he can certainly tell you what you need to know about rears. He is our resident expert on differentials.

He *does* know his rear from a hole in the ground!
