Hey John, yeah thats the piece I took a pic of it on my passenger side on my car. I tried seeing how one takes that rubber piece out. On my driver side it seems to slide right out if your careful enough but my right side seemed like it was in there. But it is cold out too, so theres not much flex there. Heres a pic of it:

Its the rubber piece that sits in that metal piece. Although the back door window in that 98 is shaped differently the front windows are not shaped differently so this should work because it has to sit against it the same way. That rubber piece kind of flaps over. My drivers side doesnt and its kind a pain. Also glad you might have a air cleaner, all the ones I have tryed to get are for either chevy or pontiac and the breather cap is on the driver side for those. The oldsmobile one is on the passenger side with the heat tube, and where I live I just cant seem to find an Olds one lol, Thanks, Gustav

Skinny, I pulled the axles. Here's a couple pictures of them. The wheel bearings look different, but they both feel smooth and I believe they're good.

Shawn, I pulled the rear springs and here's a picture

Gustav, I worked on the car today but forgot to look at the window strips. So you just need the rubber piece, not the chrome? Your the third person in the last few days who asked about an air cleaner, but I'll see what I can find.

Here's a couple more items I pulled in case someone needs them. I also got the hood springs and bumpers (Part of the rear bumper is spoken for). If there's anything else you need speak up quickly! It will probably go away in the coming week. tribunicus let me know what you think about the glass.

I don't think he'll mind the bearing issue. He's probably going to break them anyway.

Gustav, I pulled both back windows from the car. I'll get a closer look at the seals and post some pictures for you.

Gustav, here's a couple photos of the window trim. The rubber looks good, It wouldn't easily come off the chrome trim but I was able to remove it from the glass. If you would send me your address in an email or PM I'll provide you with a price including shipping. John

I'll try to get pictures of the bumper in the next couple days. Are you wanting that before the other parts? John

John,

Boy, you are one busy guy. That's the downside of doing a good job. Also the upside!! Any luck on the a/c duct assembly? I guess 68 or 69 would work.

John,

Just went through some pieces I got with the car and found the main manifold assembly. A small piece is broken off, but I can fix it. Didn't recognize it with the section missing(not to mention I was looking at it upside down). So, don't worry about the order. I will contact you when I need other stuff, which is inevidible.

Thanks again for your efforts and great support.

Charlie

Cool! I'm glad you found the part. Thanks for letting me know. I hope to start on my 1968 this winter. When I do I'll be digging out the parts I've collected and will be selling the extras once I find what I needed. John

Shawn, I'll make a list but right off I know there were parts from the rear bumper. I think the tail light assemblies were in the box with the skirts you already got, but it's been too long since I packaged it up and don't remember for sure what all was in it. John

More 1973 Olds 98 parts, updated 9/5/2010

While crawling through the garage looking for other items people have requested I came across a few things I believe came off the 1973 Olds 98. Here's some pictures. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see pictures of other views. I do have more pictures already posted at: http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...20and%20Parts/

The rotors look almost new, so I'd like $40 for the pair plus shipping and they can ship US Postal large flat rate boxes, one in each box. The rest of the parts, $10 for one, $15 for two and $20 for three each plus shipping. Still looking for other items so I may update this as I find more. I do have the 455 but would like to sell it assembled as a complete engine. I have lots of core engines so if you need an engine part let me know.

Hey if you have any factory valve covers from this car or just laying around I could use a pair.

David, I found one of the door handle surrounds with the lock switch but am still searching for the other one and the radio.

hkr, I know where the back seat panel with the clock is, but have not come across the other items yet. I've got a lot of "treasure" but it's not very organized

1973olds98, Shawn, are you describing the rear bumper section with license plate lights shown in the recent picture updates? If so there's a photo of the backside on the photobucket site, just click on the link. There is some damage to the rubber impact strip pieces but I think the rest looks good. No cut wires on the lights. $10 plus shipping for anything except the brake rotors on the updated photos. Quantity discounts if you see more things you can use

5025spd, are you looking for the valve covers with OLDSMOBILE stamped in them? Yes I do have some of those and will try to get some photos for you.

I came across a few more items today but haven't had time to take pictures and update the thread. Hope to soon.

Any stock valve covers work for me cheaper the better as long as I can clean up and paint. Better than the rusted chrome pos on my car now.

5025spd, OK, I've got lots of those. But I'm in Oregon, if you check with some of the East Coast or even mid-west guys I'm sure you could save a couple bucks on shipping.

You might check with Eightupman as he's in Charlston S.C. and has access to lots of parts. I haven't seen any posts from him here in a while, so you may have to contact him at: http://www.oldspower.com/ John

2blu442...
Would you happen to have a nice column shifter lever for a 65 Cutlass?
Mine needs the end, would be interested in the end, or the whole shifter arm.
I do not need the whole column.
Thanks in advance...
Jim
