Need a '68 Cutlass Convertible Frame
I am looking for a solid to semi-solid (repairable) frame for a 1968 Cutlass S convertible. My body and other parts are good so I only need the frame. Let me know if there is anyone who has one or a parts car for sale. Thanks

Please post your city and state to let others know what part of the country your in. If you strike out on a covertible frame, the Vista Cruiser has a fully boxed frame. I wonder if you could shorten one of those and make it work for a reasonable cost? John

Thanks, I forgot
John you are correct. I live in Charleston, SC, but I am willing to work with anyone who can help either by making a trip to pick it up, or by working out a shipping arrangement.

You might be interested in this link:

Wow,I cant believe the prices he wants for those cutlass`s. They look like junk. Makes my parts cars look a lot better.

Re: Dave's Classic Cars
That is right off I-55 south of Springfield IL. I went by once last summer. He doesn't sell parts--cars only (at least at that time). Who knows now, with the economy the way it is.
He had a lot of inventory. Most of it looked pretty beat up. Prices seemed high to me for the amount of work necessary. Just one man's opinion.

There is a frame in a 69 El Camino in Nevada, looks nice, but I saw on an internet site that the wheelbase is longer on the Elco than the 112" you have.

Are there other years that will interchange?
Will only a Cutlass frame fit? I always wondered if another GM divisions A-body frame will exchange or be modified to work, or are they completely different? |

All GM 1968 through 1972 A body convertibles (cutlass, chevelle, lemans, skylark) will be all the same. I have been told that Station Wagon frames will also be the same. As well as El Camino frames . These will be a boxed frame. Stronger than frames used on hardtop A body cars.
