1967 Cutlass & Rally Wheels
OK guys (and gals) on my 67 Cutlass Supreme project car I'll be needing tires. So it's a good time to think about wheels. I've got a set of miss matched 14 X 7 SS III's. Two are the older style with the more rounded corner inserts. The other two are the later style where the outside corners of the inserts have a sharper bend, less rounded. I planned to blast, prime & paint these dark gray to look like SS II's. But I'm wondering if the 14 X 7's might be a little too wide for the front of the 67. Would I be better off looking around for two 14 X 6's for the front? Maybe the later style cause I like the look better. Long term I plan to find a good set of SS I's w/ trim rings. Anyway, here's a list, plus tire sizes. Input please.
1. Use the 14 X 7's I have 2. Find a couple of 14 X 6's for the front, 14 X 7's rear. 3. P215 70R14's front 4. P235 60R14's rear 5. P245 60R14's rear??? 6. P215 70R14's all around My spare will be a plain steel wheel if anyone is wondering. And it will likely take me a year or two to find the SS I's. I figure I can find the 6" SS III's for $50 - $75 max. Don |

Wheels
Hi Don
I think it's down to what you like the looks of. I have a set of 14X7 with bolt on center caps, then 235/60/14 tires all the way around on my 1967. True, I haven't driven the car yet but I ran these on a 1972 Cutlass and liked the look and feel. I could snap some pictures if it would help, and I could put the front end on a jack to verify they'll go lock to lock without rubbing on anything. I've got at least half a dozen different tire sizes on Olds rally wheels, you gotta come down and we could try different ones on your car Also, I have lots of extra wheels, probably 70 or 80 stacked in the shed and on parts cars around the garage. If you like the 14X6 wheels with the sharp corners I would sell you a pair or a set at $15 each plus shipping. John
