Valve cover gasket R/R

Have not done this since High School, "55 Olds V8 with cork gaskets, refresh my memory, do you apply a sealent to the cover side and lay a thin coat of grease to the manifold side?

gasket

Yes clean V covers good apply Coppercoat gasket sealer to covers let it get tacky place gaskets on .walk away for 30 min to let dry ..go clean your heads .replace covers .Do not over tighten bolts .

no grease on the heads though, at least I never did that.
