Hi guys,
I don't currently own an Oldsmobile, but I am an Olds follower. My father has a Rallye 350 that he has owned since '73 and plans to start restoring soon with a donor shell. It was unfortunately driven daily through several CDN winters and has been hibernating for some time now. Will surely be nice to see it back on the road again. He also owns an 87 Cutlass - pics of both can be seen here:

It has a mild 350 and I recently completed a World Class T5 5-speed swap. Other than that, mostly cosmetic stuff - refinished 86-88 SS wheels, dual snorkel air breather, electric fan with SPAL PWM controller, TES shorty headers, custom T/A shaker hood with functional flap. serpentine belt setup, H4 headlight upgade, 3" front drop, 1.5" rear drop and a couple years back I had new aftermarket rear frame rails installed to replace the rotted originals.
Future plans include a vortec head & cam upgrade, 8.5" posi rearend (in hand), true dual stainless steel exhaust, and then paint some day.

Thanks for the welcome Dan! ....not sure what is going on with the written links on cardomain, but you are right - they aren't working properly. If you click on the number "4" at the top of the page, that should still work for ya.
Is the link I put in above not going directly to the Olds page for you? It seems to be working on my end.

Welcome. iI had a friend in High School with a Rallye. In fact I tried to buy one before finding my 68. I found they were a little pricey for me. I really like 'em though. I like the T/A scoop and the fact you converted to a stick. I like to row my own too. I converted my 68 to a 4 speed recently. It turned out nice.

I can't wait to go for a drive again in the Rallye once it's restored - they are one of those cars people either love or hate, but personally I think they were one of the best looking muscle cars produced (even if it was the "baby 442"). My dad's Rallye is also a 4-speed... bench seat post car Cutlass 'S' as well, so it's kind of an oddball. Only 160 post car Cutlass S Rallye's were made, it would be interesting to know how many were CDN models and a bench/standard car on top of that. The T/A shaker was something I'd always wanted to do, but never had the guts to try until I had a spare hood from a parts car. The project went much smoother than I had anticipated and I am quite happy with the results. The 5-speed was by far the best mod as far as the fun factor goes
Bringing this one back up from the dead, but figured I'd introduce my latest toy as I haven't been on the board in a while. Still not an Olds, but about 1.5 years ago I picked up a car I've dreamed about since I was a kid; a 1970 GTO (Orbit Orange Judge Recreation). It has a true RAIII Judge motor (w/ #12 heads and RAIV cam), M21 4-speed and even the grills/spoiler are supposed to be original Judge pieces.

My father came along for two trips from Ontario down to Indiana - one to check it out and make an offer/deal, then another to pick it up a few weeks later. Drove it home (about 9hrs) in late October 2010 and just beat some crazy weather! Fun experience all around and a heck of a car to cruise around in!

welcome, if you really want to have fun with that monte carlo, take the 350 chev out of it and buy yourself a boat, that way you can use it as an anchor, then get yourself an olds motor and put it in.

I'm not one of those die-hard Chevy, or even GM guys for that matter, just a car guy (I even like old Fords and Mopars!). That being said, I do greatly prefer GM's and A-bodies are my favorites, specifically Olds/Pontiac. In no particular order, my top three "dream cars" are a '70 Orbit Orange Judge, '70 Rallye 350 and a '69 Hurst/Olds. Throw a Lamborghini Countach in there as well if you want to include exotics
FWIW, I'm not a big fan at all of Corvette's (I wouldn't turn down a C2 though
), Chevelle's, Camaro's or Nova's; all far too common and "cookie cutter" for my personal taste. I have a soft spot for the "junior muscle car" g-bodies and still love the lines on the 4th gen Monte's
