Possibly a fruit orchard find...

Me and my buddy were driving around today just killing time, when all of a sudden something caught my eye. I stopped the car in the middle of this gravel road, and my friend goes "hey, what did you stop for?"

I just pointed to a fruit orchard across the road.

There sat a 60's Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 4 door. It had a box sitting on the hood, some wire around it, looks like it had been sitting a couple years. Hood wasn't latched down all the way, but the body didn't look bad. It was on their property so I didn't come up and inspect it, but from about 30 feet away it appeared to be straight.

I called the people who own the orchard today and asked them about it, and apparently the motor is good (dunno if it's a 425 or 455 yet), and they said it should start if a battery is put in it. I said i'd be interested in buying it depending on the price, so she said she'd ask her husband when he gets home. I hope they call back sometime soon...and I hope they think they just have some old junker car that they can make $100 on to get it off their property!

Great story!!!
I had the same thing happen to me last night.
A lady 2 blocks from me was trying to pump up a flat tire on her car in the driveway so I offered to help. She said she just wanted to put air in it because she was moving away and was going to donate it to charity. She then asked if I wanted it, to save her the trouble of scheduling a tow. I said yes, and now own a free
PuRpLe FRoDD Escort with 81000 miles on it. Hmmm....
I'm thinkin' construction sign orange with yellow and black lightning bolts for this monstrosity....... Or a dealer trade in on a slick olds.
I don't know what manner can o worms is inside this roller skate.
I just noticed that someone put the motor in the wrong way...... and it will only do donuts in reverse.

I'll Cheers to that comment.
I already have 4 Oldsmobiles though and if another comes my way, I'll take it hahaha!
I've been out of room for a while, and have stashed them in strategic locations around the neighborhood.

(3) 1985 Olds Delta 88s (1 is a 4 door)
(1) 1980 Delta 88 (4 door)

I don't have the heart to get rid of them if they still run and drive. Damn softie I am.
