Fuel Tank?

So while on my way to the Oldsmobile Club of Canada Nationals last Friday I found out the hard way that my fuel guage no longer works. Then after filling the tank to make absolutly sure I didn't run out I found she is leaking at the seam.

Do they make replacement tanks for these cars or should I just take it off and try to have it repaired?

Just checked the interchange manual in the tech section.

559 393003 Olds '66 98.

Apparently its only applicable to that year & model. DAMIT!!!

Called a gas tank repair place near by. Have used them before with good results. $275CDN to sandblast inside and out. Repair any holes. Install a liner inside and expoxy coat the outside. (3 Year Warranty)

It is either go that route or have a new stainless steel one custom built for about twice that money. My friend in Milwaukee just took the alternative. That is how I know!

I have had problems several times over the years with leaking around the filler pipe. I repaired it myself by removing the tank, filling it with water and then lowering the water level enough to be able to re-solder the joint. More then one person told me I must be crazy! I'm still here!
