Burried in my resto.

Hi everyone! New guy to the site here. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Olds crazy's. I am in deep with the frame off resto of my 71 Cutlass S. I have owned the car since I was 18. My first ride. It sat rusting for way to many years while we devoted all our time and money to raising our three boys. Well they are grown now so its dad's time to play. One of the big things I'd like some help with on this site is direction to the best parts suppliers for my car. I'm looking mainly for feedback on price and quality from people who have purchased major items like complete interiors and such. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome, there are quite a few folks from your neck of the woods. There are great many threads on here for parts pertaining to almost any project on your 71. Post some pic's when you get a chance.

Fusick is great....they make alot of the stuff other suppliers sell.
Inline tube is good....alot of detailed stuff.
OPGI is good. Have alot of stuff.
Year One...good, but pricey.
Usa parts supply....awful.

Just my opinions.....

Welcome to C.O.
Great story. Now for the best part - rebuilding your ride. You said you got it when you were 18? Was it new?

BTW, you know we love pics. Doesn't matter if they're before or during the build. We have enquiring minds...

re: Parts suppliers. That gets discussed here quite a bit. To save typing it all out again have a look at this thread

* clik the 'go advanced' tab
* Press the icon that looks like a paper clip; and A 'Manage Attachments' box will appear
* Choose (navigate on your computer to where the pics are stored) and hit 'open'. repeat for all 5 pics.
* Hit 'upload'. It may take a bit of time depending on your pic resolution. If you have ultra high res, you will have to 'resize' them with your picture editor to a 1024X768 size or smaller for the C.O. server to accept them.
* Close the "manage attachments' box.
* Preview your post and the images will be at the bottom
* Hit 'submit post' and the thread will have the images installed at the bottom. Unfortunately you can only do 5 pics at a time this way.

If you have the pics hosted on another web server?
* Copy the IMG url and Press the icon that looks like an envelope with mountains on it. Paste the URL into that box and hit 'ok'. You can install up to 20 images this way.
* Be sure to preview your work.
* Make sure the images don't carry on across the page, stack them for easier viewing.

Welcome to CO. I look forward to seeing your car and the progress of the project. I am knee deep like you in a 72. Rock auto is a great source for maintenance replacement parts. Fusick has good quality reproduction parts. Thorton's has some very nice stuff too.

What parts do you need .?,I've got a couple of new qaurter panels and used

Rockauto.com , Inline tube , and this forum have been great for me so far.
