Thumbs up 1970 W30 442 resto

Guess I will be polite here and introduce myself. Residing here in Ormond Beach, FL (the original "Birthplace of Speed") I'm in my second year of a complete frame off restoration of a 1970 numbers matching 442 W30. My third Oldsmobile and my first full restoration. The garage is currently occupied by my unrestored '72 Matador red, consoled Cutlass Supreme Holiday Coupe with original paint and 93k showing on the OD.

I am currently a member of the O.K. Garage hot rod club located in Port Orange, FL.

You may view the current pics at:

Cheers,

The Doc

Plan

Life is what happens to you when you've made alternative plans.

Thank you for your support. The light is getting a bit brighter at the other end of the tunnel.

Welcome to CO! Nice looking restoration project, doesn't look like it came with any rust either? Are you redoing the car to completely stock original condition?

W30 Resto

Absolutelely.

This car is undergoing concourse-condition restoration. I am a Speed camera operator and have worked several Mecum shows down here in Kissimmee, FL in past years for my favorite motorsports network

I will be in at roughly $55K on the rebuild upon completion, drive her for a couple of years and eventually sell her thru Dana when I need to the $ to retire.

Better than gold, painted GM factory Platinum/Silver. I'll take my chances but think it'll be worh the overall investment $ in the end. Besides, gold is boring and they don't make many platinum 455 W30 Oldsmobiles ANY MORE!

This vehicle is documented one of 256 with the "hot" factory camshaft direct from Lansing. MI.

Thanks for sharing. I spent my high school and college summer vacations on Ormond Beach - near E Granada and S Atlantic. I go back occasionally while visiting friends in Ponte Vedre.
