Hi Everyone

Hi,

I'm a Buick man that's considering buying a 68 442. I joined last year and have been lurking off and on. This fourm looks like a friendly and helpfull place. I work for a Municipal water authority near Pittsburgh, before that I was a Acura/Honda mechanic. My first car was a 76 Cutlass Salon triple blue. I've also owned a 71 Cutlass conv and a 81 Delta 88 diesel. My current Buicks are a 87 Grand National (bought new) and a 70 numbers matching 350 Gran Sport.

Welcome aboard Kurt!
Nice pics of your car. A lurker huh? Lurk no more my friend, we'll help you chase the demons of uncertainty off. Been my experience the vast majority of CO members are super easy to get along with and have a vast array of knowledge they are more than willing to share.

Glad to see you're no stranger to Olds. 76 was an excellent year for the Salon. Mind you so was 71 for your vert. Never really cared much for the 350 diesel.

Love to hear more about the 68 442 you're considering. Lot's of us love that style of car. Put in some more info and pics. You probably know where to look for problem areas of these A Bodies; you GS is a classic from the Buick fold.

Welcome

Welcome aboard

I too have a soft spot in my heart for Buicks [brought about during my high school years by nites at the Drive in movie in my mother's "Deuce and a quarter."]

But since Sandy is up and running I won't go into details.

Good luck on finding you a 68 442. I think your Buicks are cool I have two friends that into Buicks one has three Grand Nationals, and the other has 66 conv. and a 70 he is restoring.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I'll keep you posted on the 442. Here's a pic of my GS with my friend Ron's 71 Cutlass.

Welcome.

Were you at Kirban's Buick Regal/Grand National/GNX and GTO reunion at the Warminster Naval Air Station by the old Hurst Plant site in June 1990? I've never seen more black cars in one place.

I was there with my old '68 GTO hardtop with my brother and a friend, what a road trip and weekend that was.
I had pics and video but they're still holding them for evidence.

I bought it with the pinstripes.

Welcome, Kurt.

Love the '70 GS/Skylark. Great lines in the sheet metal.

Good luck on possibly getting the '68. I think they're a pretty cool and unique car. Then again, I'm biased. haha.
