That's the correct engine. Olds offered only one motor, the 371 V-8, in 1957. Standard horsepower was 277. With the J-2 option, it was 300 hp.

Good luck with the car.

Cool looking car you have there. Were you doing brakes at the time the picture was taken? What are your plans? Welcome to CO.

Thanks to all for the great welcome. I found this car about 4 months ago and saved it , It was in line to go to the car crusher . The car for its age is in good shape. It had a 1984 Indiana plate on it. The owner said it been sitting in a garage for the last 20 years that he new of. My plans are to redo the whole car and have it back on the road come spring. The engine was locked up and I have it pulled and working on rebuilding it now. I hope I can save the 371 rocket and put it back in the car. I do need to find a new front windshield . Looks like some one took a bb gun to it..

Used Windshields are hard to find. There are new ones available on the internet and on ebay. Its going to cost you around $450.00 plus shipping and installation. You will also need a new rubber seal. I have a large crack in mine and have been puttin this expense off. I buy a new one and have it installed in the spring
