Thanks for the help

Thanks:
Due to the responses I found a little more info. I have the tag numbers. Can anybody tell me what they all mean. The numbers are:
ST 66-33817 BF04818 Body

TR 980 W2 Paint
C08 028851

Is this an F85 or a L78?
Thanks for the help

Is this an F85 or a L78? F85 is the general term for the A-body series, yes in that sense. F85 is also part of the name of the "lesser models" that are not a Cutlass. No, in that respect.
L78 is the option number for the 442 option. That can not be determined from data plate.

If you have a build sheet that code will appear in the MANIFEST box. Its the total number of Oldsmobiles produced at the Fremont plant on the date the car was made.
