Hello all,

I purchased a 1971 Cutlass S convertible about a month and a half ago and I have started my restoration process and have very little knowledge of automobiles. I do know that i love this car and wish to learn as much as possible about it and how to do as much as possible to it myself to save money. I have attached a link to some pics of my car.

Aside from the CSM, this forum will be the second best source of technical info on Oldsmoiles.

He is well into the interior resto now and is making very good progress.
Of course by looking at the above pictures, it looks like it needs nothing major...

I am thinking there is another red 'vert out around here somewhere to bring the #s to 3...

BTW, where is that lake???

 

Nice and welcome. Looks better than mine right now. Also have a 71 conv.

One thing in 71 all convertibles were supremes. Not a real big deal but some differences in sheet metal. Check the front grills some supremes got metal ones it was a 1 year option. I got lucky with mine got metal instead of plastic.

Here is the third red convertible in the area Rob. Welcome to the site Parrish. This is a great place to get any info you need. Looks like somebody replaced the from clip on your car at some point with one from a Cutlass S. With the exception of the grills and the Cutlass S emblems, the are the same. Good luck with your car.

Nice red convertible , looks like it's worth fixing up. The white interior looks like it is just dirty , really hard to keep clean. Mine was the same and I found a really good cleaner. orange oil cut with water really cuts the dirt and grime then use a good vinyl care product to help repel dirt. how did that big dent get in the front right fender?

Nice convert. Good site to belong to. Texas isn't that the small state that would fit in one corner of Alaska

 

If Al Gore is right, when all the ice melts Alaska will be about the size of Connecticut.

If you cut Alaska in half ............Texas would be the third largest state.
