Hello from Thailand

Just joined the forum and would like to say hello from Thailand. Yes there are many American classic cars over hear as many G.I.s brought them over during the Vietnam War era and left them here when they left as they weren't worth much in the early 70s. There is a Thai American Car Club in Bangkok which has about 300 American cars in the club. I have been retired 2 years now and live in Korat which is the 3rd largest city in Thailand and about 150 miles northeast of Bangkok. I use to restore classic cars as a hobby when I lived in the States and have just bought a 1964 Olds Cutlass 2 door hardtop to tinker on as this is my first Olds I will probably need help from some members of this forum.

I'm amazed how a family of ten can all ride on one moped there.

My bro-in-law and his family live in Singapore, really want for him to invite me to the new F-1 race there, his treat.

My daughter visited a few years back and they vacationed in Thailand riding elephants and stuff.

Welcome to the site! There are several 1964 owners here so don't hesitate to post any questions that come up. Do you drive on the right side of the road like the US or on the left like the UK? John

Nice Pictures, those could have been taken at a car show anywhere in the US too! It's fun to see the different places around the word that the old car hobby is enjoyed.

2blu442, We drive on the left side of the road like in the UK which makes passing an adventure on a 2 lane road when the steering wheel is on the left side of the car. Helps to have a navigator in the passenger seat to peek around the car or truck in front and give the OK to pass. Talk about putting your life in someone else's hands

Jamesbo, I see your a 69 fan. One of my best friends in Burbank, CA (where I use to live) has one of the best restored 69 H/Os I have ever seen. I looks like it just rolled off the show room floor and he drives it to shows almost every weekend.....no trailer queen.
