IS IT BETTER TO REPLACE UPHOLSTERY. OR KEEP ORIGINAL. UPHOLSTERY IN VERY GOOD CONDITION..3 SMALL TEARS NO MORE THAN 1" LONG. BACK SEAT LOOKS BRAND NEW. ALL ANSWERS WELCOME, THANKS
I have done both. If it doesn't bother you, I'd keep it origional.
Needless to say there is upholstery and there is upholstery.
See Rob's Thread https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...-makeover.html
The worst experience I have had was buying some cardboard repo door pannels insted of having the origionals reskinned. They don't stay down on the top of the door very well.

I will forwarn you that redoing the interior will get expensive - fast!
Look at my post mentioned above and you will see how one thing leads to another and that beautifying one thing will make everything else around it look bad... You can rack up $2K easily for just the basic quality stuff.
If you have just a few small tears, I am with Eric - try to fix them before they get bigger. Then you have an original interior (getting more rare each year) for next to nothing.
And like in your signature line, it is great to say that nothing in your car has been rebuilt. I would be proud of that! Changing the seatcovers will alter that fact...
Post some pics - I would like to see your original interior!
