Tips on firewall insulation replacement?

I have a '59 98 convertible. I got a new carpet to install, and quickly figured out the firewall insulation has a rubber strip along the bottom of it that was 90% gone. Got a replacement, and will soon be stripping out the seats and removing the carpet and the firewall insulation. Any tips on what to look out for, mistakes to avoid, things that make this install easier?
Any help will be appreciated!
Jim

Tips:

1. You will need someone to help you physically lift the front seat out of the car. They are bulky and heavy!

2. Vacuum, and if need be, sand/paint the floor pan.

3. Firewall insulation is not visible, so not a lot to worry about there. The rubber strip on the bottom, as you may know, it to hold down the carpet.

4. Wait for a sunny/warm day to install the carpet. Let it sit, spread out, in the warm sun for a while before installing.

5. Do whatever you have to (continual smoothing by hand, use of a steamer, whatever) to get the carpet to lay flat.
