Question Will '62 Impala door panels fit '62 Dynamic?

I have a four door hardtop 1962 Dynamic 88 and I'm wondering if the interior door panels from a 1962 Impala will fit. Anyone know?

The body shell and door structures are the same so yes, they will fit. Just be aware that even though the Impala-level trim is every bit as high-line as the 88, it is way different from the Olds and may not be an exact match color-wise.

Rocketraider-Thanks for the info. I'm going to get some samples of the fawn color and see what they look like.

Offhand I'd say the Fawn will be a closer match than say a red or green interior. Olds was heavy into two and three-tone door panel designs back then, and vinyl seats were often a combo of lighter color paired with a darker shade of that same tone.

But as complicated as trim could be back then, I sure would like to see it come back. I am plumb TIRED of twenty shades of gray interiors. The miserable interior color choices are a big reason I won't even look at a newer car. If that's all they can offer me, I'm not going to offer them my hard-earned money.

As you have been informed, yes, the Chevy panels will fit. Why not have the Olds panels redone correctly is my question. SMS Auto Fabrics can/will do them for you. They take a long time, but do a top notch job.

Thanks Dave, I'm looking into the resto of the original panels as well. If I find that the resto costs ten times as much as the Impala repops I may have to take the cheap route (for now).

Pretty disgusting the way they hardly take into account that nobody (especially a car person) wants to look at the same designs/colors over and over again. They need to be more creative and have some variety, one of the reasons I'm not too fond of newer cars also is all the computer stuff and idiot proofing done to them.

I "believe" my cost to have SMS restore the panels on my 2-door was $450. It would have been $700 to do the doors and rear panels & armrests.

That's very reasonable. I've found that the Chevy repops are $750 for the 4-door hardtop. Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call.
