Help Installing 442 Sport Steering Wheel
I am wanting to install a Sport Steering wheel that I purchased but before I remove the existing wheel I wanted to know if it will bolt right up. Does anyone know if I will need to purchase any type of mounting kit ? I have posted pictures of what I have which is the wheel and nothing else.
Thanks |

I think you'll also need a GM# 474102 contact kit. It twists into the cancelling cam and makes the connection to the sport wheel contact.

My car came with the "deluxe" wheel and I re-used the existing contact--the little spring-loaded thing that sticks up out of the steering column when you remove the deluxe wheel. It in turn goes through the hole in the hub (shown in the pictures of my installation thread).

No problem Grant! I almost think that steering wheel thread should be a sticky...it's surprising how often it comes up. Oh, and after looking at my own thread again, you need 9 screws, not 6. 6 hold the wheel to the hub, and 3 hold the horn adapter to the hub/wheel.

My sports steering wheel wasn't complete, but I took a lot of pictures of me putting what I had on... maybe they will help.

Do you have pictures of your Supreme and SX posted anywhere? That's my favorite body style. I'd love to get ahold of an SX that's had a frame-off resto.

This was my 70 SX....sold :-(. Wish I still had it, it was the perfect project car for me.
But can't complain to much about my 72 Cutlass Supreme

Nope, when I sold my SX I gave the new owner all the extra / original parts I had with it.

Haha Thanks. My wife is tired of me flipping/trading my Cutlasses so I'll hang on this one for a while. Plus its just way to much fun to drive!
