Painting dash and door panels...

Recently bought a 72 for parts mainly dash, but want to use door panels also. Problem is I had planned on going with black interior. Ive seen paints made to paint plastics and door panels. Any tricks or suggestions. New stuff is brown and would prefer black.

Thanks

There's spray cans for interiors in black - check with a automotive paint supply store.
From experience, lightly scuff everything being painted, clean it, and put a few coats on 'rub' areas.

I changed my color on the dash from saddle to black, I use Sem Landau Black. I did not try it on the door panels had new ones made by Legendary.

I would use 600 grit!

I sanded my cluster pod with a rough grit and you can see the scratches. It annoys me so much.

I used a black upholstery paint from an auto body supply outlet and had the white color matched for all the brown to white plastics. I prepped the surface with paint reducer, the paint seems to have adhered well.

SEM is the best product out there for painting vinyl. Did my door panels and rear seat on my 68 three years ago and they still look fresh. Preperation is key and all that information is available on SEM'S website. If you want cheap use something else and take your chances.
