Carpet on lower door panels
Hello,
I have some drooping carpet that I really want to reattach (see pic below). Thought I could do it cheap and easy with crazy glue to no avail. Any ideas or experiences anyone can share that will definitely work and be strong enough to keep them in place? Thanks, Bill |

3M 8090 super trim adhesive - nothing less.
Your local parts stores should have it.

If you are interested, I have a pretty nice Saddle interior that I took out of my '72. The original stuff is nice, and probably would make a lot of people wonder why I replaced it. Everything, (and I mean EVERYTHING) on this car is brand new, so I had to-----by the way, I bought "Legendary", well worth the wait and price. I'm in Maryland.

Yes. Just mask around the area with newspaper or plastic and tape. Clean well before hand tho.

Beat me to it, Rob - 3M Trim adhesive is the greatest stuff, and made exactly for that purpose. Should work great!

The 8090 is approved for vinyl tops, so bond should be great in all weather.

Rob, I found this out the hard way. I had new door pulls made for my 71 convertible and used 3-M super adhesive, not sure which one. After one or two car shows with the top down, the adhesive let go. I now have to remove the doors panels to re glue them along with all the pw/pd/mirror ect ect... . My convertible top guy did the sewing on the door straps and said he would recommend contact cement as an alternative which wouldn't break down with heat. He uses this on the vinyl top/ convertible seams.
