How do i tell if my interior is dark green or dark green metallic in a 1970 442?

I think the green in 1970 was the metallic (some people refer to it as a pearl type green)...that was the ONLY green used in 1970 on a 442 according to the info I have.

Patton, weren't there 2 colors of green? 902 (in the 3277) and 942 (in the 3677 & 3687)?

Alan - I'm not 100% sure...my answer was based on reading the "442 By The Numbers" book from Supercars Unlimited. And that only deals with 442s (ie 4400 series). Maybe there was another green but the way I see it in this book they are only referring to one green when they list "Green" as one of the interior colors for a '70 442 (post, hardtop and convert).

Other interior colors listed are Black, Blue, Gold, Ivory and Saddle. Since the Blue, Gold and Ivory also have the "metallic/pearl" look I figure the green is the same. And from my recollection I don't recall seeing anything other than the metallic/pearl green over the years in a '70 442 when I saw them with a green interior.

Hi Patton,
I got that from the catalogue of 442,W-Machines and HO ID Numbers 1964-91. (Compiled by Cars & Paaarts Magazine. They claim it's based on over a year of research with assistance from 442 clubs, owners, car shows etc. I can't speak to 100% authenticity either; my comment was based on the info in that book. Its real hard to see if one is metallic or not from the pics. If I had a 1970 Dealer sales guide they would have actual samples of the material.

4467 442 Convert with Green Strato Bucket interior.

Call Legendary Interiors or check their website for color choices....not necessarily the 100% sure solution but my bet is they only show the one green for your car. My bet is you could only get the metallic/pearl green. I think those are great looking colors (the metallic/pearl interior choices).

The 1972 code for 943 is Blue

i'll check it again. the number is separate, correct and not part of the vin or some other string of numbers? the seats are a straight blue colour and they are cloth. the door panels and rest of the interior is more of a tourqoise. i saw teal blue at legendary auto interiors and i think that's the closest.
