Got a 72 convertible. Is the trim around the wood grain on the dash and the instrument bezel suppose to be chrome or silver painted ona convertible. I know the hardtops are chrome, but was told the convertible are painted to reduce glare. I see that the sunvisor hinges and the rear view mirro support are brushed alluminum instead of chrome on the convertibles as well. Any help.

The visor supports are aluminum to resist rust that is prone to convertibles in this area.

All 70-72 convertible cars are Supreme's (or Supreme based in the 442's case) As such these cars have a little more chrome than the average Cutlass S. They had chrome piping around the upper edge and down along the side of the dash and all trim was chrome foiled or silver leafed around the wood grained areas on all Supreme and S cars.
