Back seat arm rest Cutlass Supreme

Looing at this piece that holds the back ash tray on both sides I find that it was close to being rusted through. This was apparent on both left and right hand sides of the back seat. Was able to sand blast and sprayed with duplicolor rust inhibitor which turns the metal black. Had some pin holes so I polyed them and the pieces are now good again. Just wondering if this stamping is still available somewhere? Also anybody else run across the same issue with these pieces? Could have been condensation. My car is very clean CA car. Floor pan and Rockers clean as a whistle.

I have seen these available at some of the online repro houses. From the factory, they were unpainted, so rust was common. Yours seemed to have been a strange case - almost rusted out but with a clean floorpan. Have you looked inside the rear quarters? How do they look?
Recon those panels were from a different car installed by a previous owner for some whatever reason? Wonder if they stored away at one time in a nasty place?
I often see these pieces having only surface rust while the floorpan is almost gone...

I have seen some of these original interior metal pieces in very good condition on ebay go for as low as $10.00 to $20.00.

Ended up being able to sand blast and save with a little poly. Turned out nice. Thanks for the help.
