tic-toc-tach clock knob removal help

How do you get the knob off the clock? I need to remove the plastic lense so I can remove the ring beneath it to paint it blue on the inside.

Thanks.

This is a repro tach for a '68.

The clock knob is held on with an itty bitty screw in the centre of the knob...use a bent needle nose pliers with protective covering so as not to scratch the shaft and hold it firmly while loosening the screw...same deal for safety sentinnel...
