Real 1969 H/O or clone?
I'm leaning on the side of clone. Can anyone be sure?

If you like 1968's here's one of those too. Anybody got $70,000 to spare?

I think (not 100%) that the H/O was based on the 442 in 68-69. Besides in reality all the Olds A bodies were based on the Cutlass. The only way to tell a 69 Cutlass from a 442 or HO is the VIN (not always apparently) and the paint scheme and badging. As far as I can tell, I don't think you can just walk up to one and know for sure.
That's the last not the first numbers in his vin.
The first numbers would be 344879M [Lansing built 69 442]
The 69 H/O was based on the 442 but as far as the 69 Fisher body tags a Cutlass and a 442 are the same.
Becuase the bodies are the same.

It sure is a beautiful car.
Nice car... looks like the owner found a sticker/tag package seeing that under the hood is festooned with them
.. may be a little too over-done seeing that the entire underneath of the car is Cameo White with a gloss black driveshaft? Also like the rainbow of colors on the front suspension

On second though, guess I shouldn't criticize too much, someone took the time to make it a really clean car...

yep I'm right there with you and the way the shop is going on my car even if its not perfect the money I spent on it will make me cry the first time it gets scratched. But then again - we bought it to drive it. My wife told me the other day about about my other car "if you are not going to drive it why bother having it, then sell it" I thought about it for two seconds and realized she is right. Some folks can own dozens of cars and rarely drive them but not only do I not have that kind of money it wouldn't feel right just letting something sit when i know me or someone else could be enjoying it even more. The reason I like cars with higher miles or ones that are refurbished is because I don't have to worry about driving it around the block will reduce the value of it - that would drive me crazy
I had a chance to buy one about 20 years ago. I though that it needed a better stereo system and a few other neat things. Then I thought, "you can't do that, it's a '69 Hurst. It has to remain stock." After a while, I thought - $18,000 and I have to listen to an AM radio?" I let it go. I still love them, I was just not the kind of owner it needed. My '76 has the MP3 player in the glove compartment, a CB radio, PA system OAI hood.....plusI've driven it across Canada and the US three times each. Cross country driving is so great! If my car is ever seen on a trailer, call the cops, 'cause someone's stealing it.
