I would guess mid 60's. I understand next year she's gonna come home to Dalton Georgia for H/O day. I hope to get my trunk lid signed.

I was interested until I seen where it wasn't under warranty anymore.

I love the 68-69 H/O's.

Pretty car, but non-original engine, C heads. In 1969, even the A/C cars used D heads. Looks like the correct intake, however.

The dealer invoice states a vin starting with 344 but the othe paper work shows a vin starting with 336. Whats up with that? Nice car but I would be suspect with out more proof. Funny thing is the former owner that shows up on the paper work lived right around the corner from where I grew up.

Does look nice... but I've never seen any documentation anywhere of a break down of how many 1969's were A/C cars as the '1 of 212' that the seller states.

I seem to recall Kurt telling me me he thought there were about 50/50 a/c vs no a/C cars but more a/c cars had survived.

Well here's what Linda looks like now. Not too bad for an older lady. My good friend Ed sent me these photos from the States. He has one of the nicest 69 H/Os I have ever seen (I tried to get him to join CO but he said no). Yes she did sign his spoiler.

Yep, from all of the info he has been collecting over the years I think that was the trend. Of all the 69's I've seen at show's & meet's I'd say at least half or probably more have been A/C cars.

Here is some information on that question:

http://hurstolds.oldsgmail.com/69hovin.htm

There are others that are documented through additional paperwork kept by the original owners, etc.

As far as Demmer paperwork, (shipping receipts from Oldsmobile, and to the dealers) that is correct, a box of about 500 or so was found a few years back.

As far as I know... unfortunately there is no 'neat' VIN list from Demmer, the list was compiled off of the Demmer documents that were found. The documents were shoved into a shoebox or two and were found in the classic spot, way back on a shelf somewhere in a warehouse. They weren't found until years later. So it certainly doesn't suprise me if a chunk was missing, could have been crammed into another box which went missing, who knows?

There was another list, a list of owners per dash plaque number, but that doesn't correspond to the VIN list and only recorded the individuals who took the time to fill out the dash plaque form and send it back in.

With 3 hours to go the price still hasn't met the reserve. Don't know the reserve but the high bid now is $55,000

Unfortunately that's meaningless unless the action closes and cash changes hands.

I have never met her but hope to next year in her home town of Dalton, Ga. But over the years the description of her as "Being a Class Act" is all I've ever heard. For a lady to be a "Class Act since the 60's says alot IMHO.

She is a remarkable lady whose genuine charm goes way beyond her obvious physical attributes. She is always quite engaging and so exceptionally nice to all those around her, both men and women. She has a wonderfully contagious good mood wherever she goes.
We are lucky to have her as a spokeswoman for Oldsmobile.

Jamesbo, I suggest you stay clear of her. For your own good. I fear you won't survive meeting her

Jamsbo's poor old heart couldn't take it you'd have to stand by with paddles in hand and give him a jump start or he would keel over on the spot.

Kurt, I for one did not take the "older lady" comment to be a slight or even a backhanded compliment, but rather an acknowledgement that the years have been kind to her.

Rokit knows I'm just giving him a good natured hard time. He's got a hard life over there and needs to be poked every so often.

On the other hand, Jamebo really would keel over

Kurt,
No harm , no foul. She is a "Class Act". Here is a photo of her from 1969 taken at Daytona Motor Speedway.

That's the best description I've heard of her yet. I've met her a few times. I swear she never seems to have a bad day. She's a bundle of energy, always pleasant, always friendly, always a sweetheart! She is a class act all the way.
