Tring to figure out what motor it is

I went to S.C. saturday and picked up a 71 Cutlass S. I know after doing some checking that it is not the orginal motor but a 1970 350 with a edelbrock performer intake and 6 heads. VIN on the block and the oil filler tube all show it to be a 70 motor. Question is, Is there any way to find out what 350 it is? It appears that it has been rebuilt, as someone decided to paint it chevy orange and was done to neatly to have been painted with the motor together, and I drove it over 150 on the expressway home and didn't leak or use any oil. Just courious what motor it is.

Look above the water pump and post the numbers seen on the flat pad.
Also look on the drivers side front of the head right above the spark plug and post what's there also.

Engine looks like a 1970 or there abouts as the #6 heads were used for only 1970 engines. Block should be painted gold. I hope those are kph and not mph you were doing hehe. Information came from oldsfaq.

Thanks, Guess I should proof read before making my post. It was a 150 mile trip, I drove it easy the whole way. Those high speed days except for when I'm in the drag car are way behind me now. Any way of telling if this was orginally a 2bbl or 4 bbl motor?

The only way to tell what's inside the motor is to take it apart and measure the valve sizes and cam profile. Sorry.
