He won't get it, too much. I was watching B.J. the other day. Prices are way down.

"car shown is sister track car and sold last year. needs new paint decals and ac charged"

For that kind of money, you'd think he could take pics of the actual car!

As I have said time and again, don't confuse asking price with selling price. I often wonder if some of these outrageous prices aren't just a case of "But honey, I TRIED to sell the car..."

I agree, for a quarter of a million dollars I expect a heck of a lot of pictuers.

Thats a holy s#&%* price. I was driving down the road and saw a 72 442 convert with the hood an wheels intact did not have my camera but the sign says 35K had a old anit freeze bottle for a overflow jug and under the hood was a mess of disconnected wires, bolts were missing washers. It looked like a hack job go figure

While I won't defend the quarter mil asking price, YOU need to read the ad again. The 72 is allegedly one of the three actual pace cars used during the race, not just one of the 130 H/O convertibles. Hot Rod Magazine ran an article about the actual pace car buildup in 1972. If this car is real, the engine was a W-30 custom-modified by Olds. The seller also claims this particular car was owned by Linda Vaughn. Obviously documentation is VERY important for a car like this and the ad makes no mention of any documentation.

The Mecum cars are irrelevant. They are 1970s, not 1972s. Were they also two of the three real pace cars or just two of the many parade cars?

Hey!! Maybe he needs money for his divorce settlement?? Nope. He's a FORD guy looking for a free ride.

Yeah, but one of the things you learn in contract negotiation is that if you DON'T ask you DEFINITELY won't get it.

Even in contract negotiations, you have to put realistic terms on the table and be willing to flex on some issues. Since he wouldn't even respond to 18,700 for a car that needs work, I think he's just blowing smoke.
