SWITCHING FROM 455 TO 350
Deepens on who you ask. I think bolt right up. Might need different rubber motor mounts if you do not use the old ones. Only because manufactures have done something to them in the past couple years. Check thread on mounting questions on this web site. A few different opinions.
Just out of curiosity, why would you want to downsize from a 455? I have an Olds with a 350 and its a great motor, but if it were me I'd be keeping that BBO.
Suggest you ask Joe Paedevaro. He's got expert knowledge and can give you great info on this. If he's surfing this site you'll probably get an answer tonight. Anyway(he's on page 12 of the members list under the letter J) Good luck with your project.

I think thats one of the best thing about Olds engines. They are pretty much the same on the outside. I think the major difference on the bb is the deck height is taller and uses a wider intake manifold. There is alot of stuff that can be interchanged between bb and sb Olds engines.
455 to 350
The key to it is use the rubber mounts that are designed for the metal cross member pads. If you have the original 330 metal pads or perches then they should have used the rubber mounts for a 330. If you mix and try to use 350 rubber mounts on 455 metal pads you may have a problem. I swapped a 350 with headers from one car to another that had previously had a 455 and didn't know I had to match the mounts. I spend an afternoon with a ball peen hammer trying to make the headers fit, and pulling out my hair wondering why they worked so well in the other car but not this one! They were both 1971 Cutlass's. I've got some 1964-65 projects but haven't played with the engines yet. I don't know if the frame mounting pads were different between the small block and big block of this vintage. But if someone else made the swap, they might have used newer big block mounts. All that to say it will be simpler if you can use the metal pads and rubber mounts from the 455. John
Wow, I've had some wild spellings in my time but never with "e"s before...
Whoops! Sorry Joe. I was a little on the tired side when I put that together. My apologies, I know that a name is kind of personal and should be spelled right.
My bad.
