I have a '78 Cutlass Brougham that is currently being restored. I am looking for a door lock latch. I can find ones for up to 1972 but havent had any luck with the '78 model. Anybody have any suggestions??

 

Have you tried looking through any local auto wreckers? The parts may not be new, but they can be checked for some functions while you're at the car. Even if you get a used part, you can recondition it to new. Or if it's not a visible part, just pop it in after doing the necessary cleanup and maintenance to make it reliable.

I had a 1978 Cutlass Calais. Very similar to what you probably have. Mine was Silver with a burgandy Opera roof. Red interior. Full gauge and appearance package, buckets/console, 3:08 gears. BUT, it was a Oldsmochev. (Chev 305 4bbl). Good car and fun to drive. Wish it would have had a rocket 350.

Good luck with your search. If you can't find something local check on ebay. They always have stuff. Sometimes even NOS.

They'll pull the parts and mail them too you as well I believe.
