67 olds fender lights

I was in communication with a guy in ohio the first time i seen this and I am under the impression that they are a delta option. But I have only seen this in two cars so far both 67 delta 88's.The one in ohio and one that Ron hardtop/ragtop brought to my attention. The lights in the fender are nice looking and I would assume they double as turn and marker lights.I am posting pic's of the ohio car and I am looking for any insight into this, were they a add on or how did they come to be on two deltas.

I'm pretty sure those are just aftermarket side marker lights. They were popular when side markers were federally mandated for the 1968 model year as a way to make you car look newer. Same thing happened in 1985 when the CHMSL (aka, third brake light) was federally mandated.

You see this "updating" all the time. How many people converted their 1963 split window Corvettes to one-piece back windows, only to convert them back when the one-year-only split window body became more valuable? Hot Rod ran an article in 1973 about how to put a rubber bumper on the 68-72 cars, again to "update" the look.

Yup. Cornering lamp option, available all B/C cars. They come on with turn signals but do not flash.

They have their own wiring harness and require a cornering lamp turn signal switch, so if you get ideas about putting them on your car there is more to the installation than just the lamps. If you pull them off a junker, get everything and take good measurements off the donor fender.

Are the lenses in those pictures clear or orange? They looked orange to me.

They look clear to me, Joe. Plus the lenses are fluted, so I believe them to be factory cornering lamps.
