Wow you weren't kidding about the small pics. Not much you can tell from those especially considering you haven't told us what type of car it is & there are no pics of the outside of the car.

looks like the rear floor rail is shot , I was told you can replace the rail or the rear part of the floor pan , Is that worth it ??? or what would it cost to replace the whole floor pan ?? thanks

So, is the car yours now? If so congratulations on the acquisition.

Nice looking car, but unless they changed the glove box cover...442!?. Would have to check with the resident experts on that being it's a '72, but I am doubting. I also noted how he was careful to state that it is "believed to be a 442" Negotiate with that in mind as VIN won't confirm of deny. That said nice looking car.

In 1972 the glove box emblem is correct to be either Cutlass or Cutlass Supreme. The 442 emblem was not correct for this year. Also, neither is the rear spoiler. It's commonly added by those of us who want a cool look to the car. According to the 1972 Assembly manual, the rear wing option was deleted from production on March 31, 1971 - well in advance of the 1972 production start. One other thing, the car looks like it has an original W25 OAI Hood, but it's missing the OAI underhood parts that go with the air cleaner. That doesn't make sense. One last thing, the exhausts are not positioned correctly. On Olds, they should run straight to the back of the car and dump down almost directly under the taillights.

Nice looking car, hope you enjoy driving it.

As far as being a "true" 442? You'd need a build sheet or broadcast sheet from the car showing it being a W29 option. You can't tell from the VIN like you could in previous years.

I did not see a rear sway bar, which WOULD have been included with the W29 package.
The pics are too small for me to say precisely, but boxed rear lower control arms do not appear to be there either.
If these are not there, it is most likely not a real 442. The missing W25 air cleaner is also suspicious.
However, the price it won at is at or a little below the selling price of a Supreme.
Nonetheless, you seemed to get a good car at a good price!

Didn't even notice the pic of the rear suspension. Does not seem to have boxed arms or sway bar...Good eye.
